With the increase in awareness of sustainability and eco-friendliness in the fashion industry, it is no surprise that many more brands are embracing the idea of it. While the words speak drab and boring fashion to some, it speaks style and luxury to others.

The BITE Studios is definitely proving that sustainable fashion can be extremely classy and stylish. BITE which is an acronym for By Independent Thinkers for Environmental Progress shows that it takes the concepts of sustainability and style very seriously.https://www.instagram.com/p/B9CeVjUgKWf/embed/?cr=1&v=12&wp=326&rd=http%3A%2F%2Flocalhost%3A8000&rp=%2Fpost%2Fwesternfashion-heres-how-the-bite-studios-fashion-brand-is-merging-sustainable-fashion-with-luxury#%7B%22ci%22%3A0%2C%22os%22%3A2730.279999988852%2C%22ls%22%3A1906.5649999829475%2C%22le%22%3A1927.674999984447%7D

The London and Stockholm based fashion brand which was founded in 2016 by a group of creative minds has earned a place in Net-A-Porter’s new Net Sustain initiative highligting eco-conscious brands. The brand has been featured in British Vogue, Business of Fashion and Financial Times.

What Makes BITE Studios Unique?

BITE Studios “is a luxury womenswear label with a mission to create uncompromisingly sustainable yet thoughtfully designed clothes.” As is the norm with sustainable fashion, all their outfits are made to last.

The brand specialises in using organic wool, silk and cotton for their hand crafted knits and outerwear. All the materials used by the brand are researched on meticulously to find the finest quality fibres, recycled and low-impact fabrics.

The brand has an environmental philosophy which shows a “commitment to conserving the environment and to beautiful durable designs”. None of their looks is created without a purpose in mind and all are created with materials that have the lowest possible impact on the enviornment.

BITE Studios Collections

The BITE Studios presents looks that are streamlined and tailored to fit with a serious attention to detail and cut. Their collections are comprised of limited pieces and outfits that merge art with fashion;

Collection No.5

The items in this collection are all hand made with the finest quality organic and recycled materials. They are pieces that are bold and classy. The collection consists of dresses, pants, coats, shirts and skirts.

Collection No.4

This collecton uses the same theme that was used in Collection No.3, which depicts artists and tastemakers of the 20th and 21st century. The items here are predominantly black, with hints of caramel, tumeric and brown. They also have outfits with prints inspired by the watercolours of Irene Monate Stern.

Collection No.3

The pieces in this collection were inspired by female icons of the 20th and 21th century. They consist of necklaces made with baruch pearls, dresses, pants and shirts in black, white and natural colours.

The collection includes haute couture pieces that were made in collaborations with two artists – Gala Colivet Dennison and Aisha Christison.

The pieces made in collaboration with Gala Colivet Dennison are jewellery pieces made from silver and baruch pearls. All the jewellery were hand made by her in her studio. For her, jewellery is an “extension of the body” and part of a person’s identity so she creates pieces to empower people. Only 20 pieces per style were made.

The pieces made in collaboration with Aisha Christison are all items of clothing that merged artwork with fine organic silks. Aisha, who works predominantly with oil and watercolour, tries to treat colour like a subject by allowing the imagery to bring out and amplify the properties of the colour. Only 100 pieces per style were made.

What’s to Learn from the BITE Studios Brand?

BITE Studios proves that luxury and sustainable fashion look good together. It teaches us that art is a part of fashion and both can be merged to create something unique and different. Fashion designers can learn to think out of the box and stand out of the crowd by combining elements outside of fashion with their outfits.
