With the trending obsession for having a “perfect body”, especially flat tummies, physical fitness is in vogue. Several brands are springing up from all the corners of the earth, with so many products promising us the body of our dreams.
Now, to be physically fit, which of these would you subscribe to, slimming teas, body shapers or the good ol’ exercise? Here are the responses of 5 fashionistas.
“All Three” —Damilola Ugowonni

For the journey to having a flat tummy, all three methods work hand in hand. If you subscribe to using slimming teas, balance it with exercise and you can wear a body shaper each step of the way, that way you get a faster and more definite result.
It, however, doesn’t end at having the flat tummy you want. It is better to focus on having a lifestyle change than fixing flat tummies temporarily everytime. Stay healthy and remember, there is no perfect body. So eat healthy, detox often and workout and if your big belly is caused by your genes, own your tummy but remain healthy.

“Workout” —Damola Adegoke
Workouts work best and when it is coupled with the right diet, the result is excellent. The use of waist trainers while working out or just on a regular day helps to define your body better and that’s all. In my opinion, it doesn’t give a reduced tummy. It works best when combined with the workout and diet.
I honestly think slimming tea is most often a scam, dangerous and even sometimes harmful, so I am not an advocate of it at all. Get skimmed milk, work on your diet and have a huge dose of discipline and dedication (that I do not have at the moment). I don’t have a definite tip on how to get a flat tummy yet but I hope this little helps.

It is important to note that sometimes, a big belly is genetic. Some other times, it’s due to your metabolism or it could be just you. Some people get lucky to eat anything and can get away with it, but if you don’t, the best thing is to watch your diet, stay away from processed sugar, carbonated drinks, eating late and just have general portion control.
“The good ol’ exercise anytime anyday” —Joshua Adejumo

I’ll choose the good ol’ exercise anytime any day. Body shapers and weight loss teas wouldn’t give me hard rock, bone-chilling abs and muscles. I love being muscular so I’ll —using your words— subscribe to exercise. I can however try these detox teas but I don’t need them to be as physically fit as I am.

“I have nothing against body shapers and agility teas” —Tomiwa Adegbile

I’ll choose exercise, exercise is very healthy and I’m a fitness babe. Let me tell you more about exercise. Exercise builds not just your body but your mind as well. Exercising teaches you never to give up despite pain or hardship, doesn’t that apply to everyday life? I have absolutely nothing against body shapers and slimming teas. Those two are brilliant ways of staying fit, but I’ll choose my sweetheart, exercise over them.
“Pass me a waist trainer please!” —Olarewaju Bello

I no come this life to suffer. Pass me a waist trainer, please! Thank you very much. Exercise is hard, honestly, it is. As for slimming teas and all, I’m wary of taking just anything so I won’t subscribe to it no matter the hype. I love my body, it’s just this stomach that won’t leave me alone so a waist trainer comes to my rescue every time.
Whatever fitness package you choose to subscribe to, learn to love and understand your body. Know what works for you and keep at it. Stay healthy.
