In the magazine, she shared her story of growing up in both Senegal and Los Angeles, and how she had to deal with racism. She also spoke about the popular show, Insecure, and how it has affected her life in general, as well as her upcoming movie, Coastal Elites.
The 2020 Emmy Awards
The Emmy Awards is an American award that recognises excellence in the television industry annually. This year’s edition, however, was virtual due to the coronavirus pandemic and most of the nominees had to stay home to watch the show live.
Popular actress, Zendaya, was particularly the highlight of this year’s award show as she made history by becoming the youngest woman to win the Best Actress in a drama series award at the Emmys.

The Smart Money Woman is a new TV show that focuses on the African girl’s journey to financial freedom, and the pilot episode premiered this week. Being a Nigerian TV show, it was delightful to watch that most of the cast in the series wore outfits made by Nigerian designers.
Perhaps in a bid to promote Nigerian fashion, the costume designer and creative director, Isoken Ogiemwonyi, made a deliberate decision to dominate the episode with Nigerian fashion designers. The casts rocked outfits from popular designers like Adeysoile, Mai Atafo, Sanusi Lagos, Shaviy Clothing, Wana Sambo and a host of others. This move would definitely encourage more people to patronise Nigerian fashion designers.
New Vogue.com Editor, Chioma Nnadi
Chioma Nnadi, who was the former News Director at Vogue.com, has recently moved up the Vogue masthead. The popular Nigerian creative was named the new Editor of Vogue.com, which would entail tasks such as overseeing all of Vogue’s digital content and many more.
Just like Anna Wintour, the editor-in-chief of Vogue, shared,
“I am so thrilled that Chioma will be the new Editor of Vogue.com. Above all, we know her as someone who intuitively understands fashion and brings to it a genuine love of discovery.”
Nigeria’s Football Kit
The Nigerian Football Federation has recently revealed the new kits that players of the Super Eagles and Super Falcons would wear for the year 2020 till 2022. The new kits were designed by Nike and feature symmetrical designs which are indeed unique.
The new kit was announced on Sunday and showcased by some of the team players including Alexander Iwobi, Asisat Oshoala, Samuel Chukwueze and many more.
Lizzo For Vogue Magazine Cover
Rocking a bright red Valentino dress, the popular musician, Lizzo, is the latest Vogue cover star for the October issue. In her interview for the magazine, she shared her takes on different topics ranging from Black Lives Matter to her musical beginnings, even the body positivity movement.
Like she shared on her Instagram, this is an emotional moment for the musician as she is the first big black woman on the Vogue magazine cover.
