Design Inspiration

Over the past few years, the Kancky fashion brand has been through quite a journey and this was the main inspiration behind this collection. Though Kancky was established to provide modern women with tribal-chic clothing, the outfits do not need to be boring or monotonous, just like people think.

The Clarity collection is one that expresses a complete understanding of what the Kancky brand represents, in terms of their fun and unconventional designs.

“Finally gaining understanding of what the Kancky brand represents, who I am as a woman, who the ideal Kancky woman is and what she stands for, I can confidently say I have Clarity; one that is synonymous with crystal clear water.” – Nkechi Hilda Nwafor.

Uniqueness

Only sustainable hand-painted and hand-dyed fabrics were used for this collection, and this is one of the things that makes it unique. The colour splash patterns, exuberant hues as well as the symmetrical patterns of the prints were used to create a striking effect for the designs.

Most of the designs in this collection are also in trend, and this created a high level of affinity for these pieces to modern women. Designs such as flared sleeves, ruched style, tiered sleeves, high-low, bishop sleeves and many more were utilised in this collection.

“It goes beyond just creating designs that boost confidence in our women; how we come about these finished pieces (in terms of materials used and methods of sourcing and production) is of great significance to the Kancky brand.” – Nkechi Hilda Nwafor.

Target Audience And Pricing

One thing that was communicated expressly through this collection is how it is targeted at the modern women who loves to experiment with prints and colours. This collection consists of workwear staples as well as casual outfits that can be worn to a variety of occasions.

“Our objective is to depict indigenous prints in a more refined way through employing a range of fun and unconventional designs (mostly geometric and abstract) interpreted into chic functional styles and silhouettes.”

The outfits in this collection were made to be affordable for a lot of people as they range from about 18,500 naira to about 52,500 naira.

Kancky’s Clarity collection is one that utilised fully the uniqueness that sustainable materials portray. The collection also communicates expressly who the modern woman should strive to be in terms of celebrating African culture with fashion.

This collection also comprises of new school trends for the customers not be seen as slacking, and this is indeed commendable.
