 Social media can be a major game-changer for fashion entrepreneurs. There are so many features various social media platforms offer entrepreneurs that they can use to their advantages.

Recently, features like YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, Pinterest Story Pins, and disappearing messages by WhatsApp were launched on various social media platforms. All of these features are useful in their ways to fashion entrepreneurs.

On Tuesday, Twitter launched Twitter Fleets, a stories feature similar to Instagram Stories, that lets users post tweets that disappear after 24 hours.

That thing you didn’t Tweet but wanted to but didn’t but got so close but then were like nah.

We have a place for that now—Fleets!

This new feature was designed to help people feel more comfortable about sharing their opinions and thoughts publicly without worrying about it being permanent.

“Some of you tell us that tweeting is uncomfortable because it feels so public, so permanent, and like there’s so much pressure to rack up retweets and likes,” wrote Twitter’s design director, Joshua Harris, and product manager, Sam Haveson, in a blog post.

“Because they disappear from view after a day, fleets helped people feel more comfortable sharing personal and casual thoughts, opinions, and feelings.”

Fleets can accommodate text, photo, and video content and will be available at the top of the home timeline of users’ and on the sender’s profile. Also, other Twitter users can reply directly to Fleets and continue conversations in the sender’s dm.

How to User Twitter Fleets to Boost your Brand.

Fashion entrepreneurs can use this feature to boost their interactions with clients and their brand. Here’s how:

1. Create Tutorials.

With Twitter Fleet, you can create tutorials and tell your clients how you make your products. Teach them basic things that are useful to them.

Content like easy fashion hacks that your audience can follow without hassle is also a great option. This will show your clients that you are interested in creating value for them.

2. Share Extra Photos and Videos.

With the Twitter Fleets feature, you can also share extra photos and videos that will help promote your brand. The videos could be behind the scenes videos or videos on how you spend a typical day.

This could help you bond better with your clients and help them connect with the person that you are. After all, people buy from people.

3. Break News.

This feature can also be an avenue for you to break news to your clients about events that are happening with your brand. It could be news about promotions or giveaways.

It could also be news about new collaborations, collections, or deals that you are involved in.

Users Reactions.

When the news of the Twitter Fleets launch was announced, various Twitter users had a lot to say about it. Here are some of their reactions;

While some were excited about the new length of characters they can post in a single tweet;

You guys are saying you don’t want Fleet like you didn’t want 280 characters and other new features.

Others felt it is a fun addition to make the platform more versatile;

Fleets is a very fun and necessary addition to Twitter. All social media platforms are not seemingly blending together.

While some others saw it as a burden that followed them from Instagram;

Does the fleets thing stress anyone else out? Like I use Twitter to get away from IG stories, not have it follow me around on every platform reminding me that I don’t have makeup on — Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (@AOC) November 17, 2020

And many others complained about the lag Fleets brings to Twitter

Overall, we think it was a great move by Twitter. What do you think? Please share your thoughts with us in the comments section below.
