The International Women's Day, a day set out to appreciate all women, irrespective of race, tribe, ethnicity or colour, is celebrated every 8th of March.

This year was no different. The theme for this year's International Women's Day was Generation Equality: Realizing Women's Rights (#EachForEqual).

One of the Sustainable Development Goals set by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015, Gender Equality has to be achieved for a society to grow and develop fully. The year's theme was in agreement with this.

In the light of this, some organisations decided to celebrate the International Women's Day by giving out grants to female entrepreneurs in different fields.

These are some of the grants.

  1. Flutter wave International Women's Day Grant

The Flutter wave International Women's Day Grant is $1000 which is to be given to one female from each of these countries; Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Rwanda, and South Africa.

The grant is meant to support female entrepreneurs with additional financial aid they may need to run their enterprise(s).

Applications would close on the 23rd of March, and winners will be announced shortly after. Terms and conditions apply, but it is definitely worth a try.

        2. Fidelity Bank PLC Grant

The management of Fidelity Bank PLC just shared their decision to dedicate $15,000,000 to promoting and developing small to medium scale enterprises owned by female entrepreneurs.

In celebration of the International Women's Day, the bank declared it's full support for female-owned enterprises knowing that some more capital is sometimes necessary for good returns.

        3. Skill Power Academy Grant

       4. Wema Bank PLC Grant.

Wema Bank PLC is offering a grant of #100,000 to be given to 3 female entrepreneurs in any field. This is to support and grow their businesses. The grant is part of the bank's effortd to correct wrong stereotypes, advocate for gender equality, improve womens' achievements and help their businesses thrive.

Lack of proper funding should not be the reason why women can not explore their creativity and passion, that is the motivation behind this grant.

There you have it. 4 grants supporting female-led business ventures, fashion brands, and what have you.
