As a fashion designer, it is understandable if you’re partial to a few fabrics over others for different outfits. The type of fabric you use depends on a number of things; the style or trend you use it to sew, the budget for the outfit and the preference of the client amongst others.

Best Fabrics To Use For Dinner Dresses
Eucheria Umahi, the experienced creative designer of U.Coutures, a fashion brand that makes bespoke and ready-to-wear outfits for females of all ages, had this to say,
“The best fabrics to use for dinner dresses are Tulle, Doll face, Bodycon and Softlace. This is because they are very easy to manipulate and can produce any style you desire. They also perfectly suit the body of the client, and are very comfortable.
Tawose Olajumoke, the creative director at Gracies, a womens wear fashion brand that focuses on corporate, casual, dinner and bridal outfits, shared this with us,
“Personally, I would love for my clients to stand out during a dinner, so I’m partial to glittery fabrics. Patterned sequins, and the newly made sugar lace are my best fabrics to use for dinner dresses”.
Tenny Wilson, the head creative director of Styled by Zerah, a fashion brand that caters for the 21st century woman, had this to say,
“Sparkly and glittery fabrics are my goto fabrics for dinner dresses; fabrics such as English lace and sugar lace. The fabric used also depends on the budget of the client, and the outfit to be sewn”.
“Chewing gum lace, bodycon and velvet materials are the best fabrics to use for dinner dresses. Although some of the fabrics are more expensive than the others, all of them would still create that stylish look for the outfit”.
