Every creative collection has a story. This is the story of a collection inspired by the smell of the first drops of rain on the dry ground; of the first drops of moisture that shakes off the heat on the earth’s face. It is the story of Petrichor.
Petrichor is the third collection from The Bamdel Fashion Fashion Brand. Located in Ibadan, The Bamdel Fashion Fashion is creatively directed by Anthonia Fabeku. Anthonia, as she likes to be called, is the soft-spoken and pleasant designer who designed Petrichor.

Sit and enjoy the story of Petrichor.
How it all began
On May 2, it had just finished raining, and she was heading out to this place when the smell of wet dust filled her nostrils. ‘The smell of wet dust gives me a feeling of nostalgia and comfort,’ she said to me with a smile.

‘Standing there, I had the urge to create something with a little touch of the olden day classics. After doing some research and looking into styles that were popular in the 1900s, I created a mood board. I had a lot of Nos and Maybes with myself, but eventually, I got the sketch of what I wanted.’
Style and Design
Petrichor is a collection of 4 pieces that make up 3 different looks. Two are male looks, and the other is a female look.
The female Petrichor look is a deep red 2-piece suit, which can be styled to take you to official, and casual occasions. It is an unusual silhouette for female suits; sexy in a subtle, appealing way.
The light addition of the lace at first seems uncharacteristic, but for a lady with a great sense of style, this is a win.
A stylish businessman would command the shirt on a pair of smart pants. For a less official look away from work, the shirt can be paired Jeans.
The colour palette for Petrichor
The colours of Petrichor are black, white, and red. Anthonia chose the colours because black and white were the colours of the 80s. Pictures and virtually everything was in black and white in those days. Red has always been very famous also.

Red makes a statement of boldness. Ladies go out to dates and meetings looking gorgeous and noticeable in red. ‘Red does not just depict fashion, it is a signature for strength, and energy,’ she said.
Can you shop for the looks?
Totally! If you are a fashion-forward, and trendy male or female, you should definitely shop the looks from Petrichor. The male looks are ideal for men who can rock bright colours, and are within the age bracket of 20 and 40.
Whether you are a society lady or a business owner, the female look can be styled to take you to both official and casual occasions.

How we shot the Petrichor collection…
Anthonia wanted the shoot to reflect tradition. She wanted to show the flow from the ancient to the modern because the modern is just a refined presentation of the ancient. We looked at different buildings, particularly in the traditional city of Ibadan. One of the venues that caught our attention was the Mapo Hall, which we did not use.
COVID-19 has been a real part of the last months, and in the shoot for Petrichor, it affected the decisions of venue owners negatively. Still, the show must go on, and the looks we admire must be captured on film.

fantastic publish, very informative. I’m wondering why the other
experts of this sector don’t notice this. You should proceed your writing.
I’m confident, you’ve a great readers’ base already!
I’m impressed, I have to admit. Seldom do I come across a blog
that’s both educative and interesting, and let me tell you, you’ve hit the nail
on the head. The issue is something that too few men and
women are speaking intelligently about. I am very happy that I found this in my search for something concerning this.
