The Lagos state government has shown support for young entrepreneurs through the partnership of its Ministry of Wealth Creation and Employment with Mac89Experience.
Through the partnership, it has developed a platform where Nigerian fashion entrepreneurs can showcase their works.
The fashion industry holds the potential to provide jobs for more youth and women, seeing as the textile and clothing sector is the second largest in the developing world.
The Lagos state government partnered with Mac 89 Experience, a fashion start up, to encourage fashion entrepreneurs to build their businesses and break through barriers by providing them with training, strategies support and access to the fashion ecosystem.
Mrs Yetunde Arobieke, the Lagos state commissioner for wealth creation and employment, stated that although we have a lot of talented entrepreneurs, there is a need to bring them closer to the market. The wave program is not just designed to support and train entrepreneurs, it will also give them access to showcase their works on an e-commerce platform created by Mac89.
The Creative Lead Director of Mac89, Michaels Ikediashi, stated that creativity and business will lead the industry to new heights. He explained that the partnership with Lagos state Government will help fashion entrepreneurs to reach their full market potential in the industry.
Talking about ‘The Wave Program’, the Commissioner further encouraged young entrepreneurs to invest in building productivity and resilience as the result is certain, she added that entrepreneurs listed on the platform will be able to source jobs from different parts of the company.Like 0
