FIA Factory recently celebrated their fifth anniversary in the fashion industry, and they released a capsule collection to that effect. Did the collection embody all that the brand has been through over the years clearly? Here’s our review of the collection.

About The Collection

This capsule collection, tagged TIME, was designed by the brand to mainly celebrate their fifth anniversary in the Nigerian fashion industry.

“This collection is very personal to us because it represents the past 5 years in the fashion industry. It represents our growth, our challenges, it represents the year 2020 and how the pandemic slowed down the fashion industry as a whole.” – FIA Factory.

So, how was the FIA factory able to deliver this collection?

Well, the FIA Factory is an eclectic fashion brand with a spirited sensibility for African aesthetics creating modern pieces. So, they were able to mix and match different prints to create charming and trendy outfits.

The brand is also known for redefining how the modern woman sees daily wear, office wears and many more, and they channelled that in this collection.

Design Inspiration

The TIME capsule collection was designed to be a limited one, and, thus has a lot of unconventional cuts and designs.

“TIME is a limited capsule collection made thoughtfully with love and affection putting ourselves in the view of the customers and everything that has happened this year.” – FIA Factory.

All these were communicated in the capsule collection through unconventional cuts and designs such as side ruffles, frayed edges, plunging necklines and many more. Also, because the brand is edging towards more sustainable practices now, sustainable materials such as local cotton, adire and many more were used, while making the pieces limited.

“This year also enlightened us more about sustainable production and how we aim to push for responsible consumption and production, thereby reducing overproduction.” – FIA Factory

Target Audience

Most of the outfits in the collection consists of two pieces and dresses and are suitable for both casual and formal settings.

Outfits in this collection could easily become workwear staples for modern women who are not afraid to let their fashion choices speak for them.

The TIME collection is one that communicates the struggles the FIA Factory has gone through over the years clearly and concisely.
