All of these feelings should be evoked in your customers upon receiving their orders from your fashion brand. They have waited days, and maybe even weeks, to receive their package from you. You might as well take that opportunity to make them feel valued and impressed. 

What is Unboxing?

Unboxing, as the name implies, is the unpacking of a product from a box or product packaging. Unboxing should be more than just removing products from a box, it should be an experience. 

The unboxing experience is what happens when a customer opens the packaging of your products for the first time. It should be a memorable moment that creates a lasting impression on them. One that makes them feel like you care about them. 

As a fashion entrepreneur, you should pay special and careful attention to all the details of the materials used in packing and shipping your products. How the products are arranged in the package is also very important. All of these should be geared at evoking the same feeling people get when they receive a long-awaited present in your customers.

Your brand story is the essence of your fashion brand and everything about your brand should tell oy proudly. From your logo design to your customer service, corporate identity, and packaging, everything should convey your story to your customers.

When customers get a package from your brand, it is one of the only times you have their full attention. Use this opportunity to pass across your brand story to them through your packaging. Do it in such a way that it resonates strongly with them.

You should take this opportunity to influence the impression your customers have of your products, and brand, the first time they get to have physical interaction with you through your products. So, pay careful attention to details so they know you value your interaction with them.

Every successful fashion brand needs customers that keep coming back to them, come rain or shine. When you pay attention to details, make customers feel valued, and give them a great customer experience, they are likely to come back.

Marketing is a vital part of running a fashion brand and what better way to do it than when you have the undivided attention of your customers? When your customers love your boxing, they tend to share it with family and friends or their social media community.

How to Create a Great Unboxing Experience 

1. Use Branded Packaging

Whatever you use in packaging your box, be it a box, bag, or nylon, make sure it is branded. Let your customers know the package is from you at first sight. Choose a consistent theme to use for your branded packaging and stick to it.

Also, apart from the main product packaging, make sure that your shipping boxes are branded as well. If making boxes in your brand colour is too costly for you, go with brown boxes that are customised to represent your brand. 

2. Use Unique Packing Materials

Apart from your regular box, bag, nylon, or mailer bags, use unique packing materials in your boxes. You can choose to use customised paper or tissue to fill in empty spaces in the box to make it look fuller or to line the inside of the box. 

Other unique addition like low-cost custom stickers can be used to seal your package wraps and decorate your box. Custom tapes can also be to seal your box or maybe even wrap the products if boxes are too expensive. Ribbons are also a great option to add a little fun to your packages. 

3. Pay Attention to the Product Layout

It will be a waste of effort to pay close attention to the outside of the packaging and leave the inside looking uncared for. Take out the time to carefully arrange your products in their pack so your customers feel valued. 

This means paying attention to the size and shape of your box for the number of products that go in. If need be, you can make dividers in the box or use bubble wraps, tissue paper, or foam pillows to keep everything in its place. 

4. Include Freebies

Everyone loves a free gift. Nothing says value and care to your customers more than an unexpected thank-you gift. Little shows of care tend to impress and evoke beautiful feelings in customers so you should go all out with it.

Based on their order and your perception of their taste, you can add a free sample of a different product. A discount code for money off their next purchase, some candy, or things like that will do too.

5. Get Personal

Taking out the time to add a handwritten personalised thank-you note to your packing can go a long way in showing your customers that they are worth your time. Writing a sweet note to show appreciation to them for choosing you over your competitors can create a strong emotional bond between your brand and your customers. 

The note can be placed in branded envelopes or dropped in alone a conspicuous place.
