The Creative Business Cup Nigeria is a national championship for entrepreneurs launched to empower creative startup companies throughout Nigeria. It is an initiative designed to support entrepreneurs, including fashion entrepreneurs, to grow their business ideas, connect them to investors as global markets, as well as strengthen their innovative capabilities to the benefit of the industry and society.

The Creative Business Cup Nigeria has announced the launch of this year’s application process, in conjunction with The Enterprise Development Centre, Young Africa Works and MasterCard Foundation. Here’s all you need to know about it.

Application Process

The Creative Business Cup Nigeria is open to all creative and innovative entrepreneurs in Nigeria. Entrepreneurs from different industries, such as fashion, design, craft, artisan, music and many more, are open to apply, as they believe that creative industries contribute significantly to economic growth and employment worldwide.

In 2019, Chioma Ogbudimkpa, the Creative Director of Redbutton which is a women’s wear fashion brand, emerged winner of the Creative Business Cup Nigeria. This, in turn, promoted exposure and visibility for her brand.

For the application process, all the details of the business and the business owner would have to be provided, ranging from the company name to email and address, number of years of operation, and the nature of the business.

Then, to grasp what services and products the brand provides exactly, details about the products sold, target audience, uniqueness of the brand, marketing strategies, revenue generation, growth potential, staff and the business concept would have to be provided.

A high-level pitch about the brand and the products offered would also have to be stated in the space provided. To find out how to deliver a winning elevator pitch, click here.

Milestones, business needs, as well as the key factors motivating you, as a fashion business owner, would also have to be shared during the application process.

Benefits Of The Creative Business Cup Nigeria 2020

Applicants of the Creative Business Cup Nigeria, if successful, stand a chance to represent Nigeria at the Creative Business Cup Global Final 2021, winning a million naira and unrestricted access to an accelerator programme.

That’s not all though.

A 5-day boot camp with industry experts, intense mentoring from a pool of international and local mentors, as well as business support services, are some of the other benefits of the Creative Business Cup Nigeria.

Applications for the Creative Business Cup Nigeria 2020 closes on August 30, 2020. To register, you can click here.
