Fashion shows and events happen annually in the fashion space allowing designers to showcase their designs and creativity through their fashion collections. The COVID-19 pandemic initially put a halt all fashion shows, but as the world is dealing with it, fashion houses have adapted and devised new ways to do these shows safely.
For the rest of the year, the fashion events to expect are:
1. Paris Fashion Week
Paris Fashion Week is one of the biggest fashion shows in the world anchored by the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode. This year, the fashion week will feature 19 physical fashion shows – including Dior, Hèrmes, Chanel and Loius Vuitton – and 84 brands.

2. New York Fashion Week Bridal
With the New York Fashion Week (NYFW) already completed, the NYFW Bridal comes up from Wednesday, October 5 to Monday, October 9. The show will feature 51 designers who will unveil their newest bridal collections with runway shows, presentations, and appointments.
The schedule also includes such designers as Dutch duo Viktor&Rolf, and group showings such as the Made in Italy Bridal Fashion Show, Bridal Couture from Israel, and The Fringe Collective: Designer Presentations. For more information on NYFW Bridal, click here.
3. Seoul Fashion Week
Seoul Fashion Week for Spring/Summer 2021 comes up from October 20 to October 25. The biannual fashion show, which started in 2000, will hold virtually and will feature designers showing their collections online through the Seoul Fashion Week official website, YouTube channel, WeChat and Naver.

4. South African Fashion Week
The 36th season of South African Fashion Week which will take place from the 23rd to 26th of October. The Autumn/Winter 2020 Collections and Trade Show will have 39 fashion designers show their luxury collections at the Protea Court Rooftop, Sandton City.
Womenswear and menswear designers will be given 2 days each to dhow their collections. The fashion event will again host the SAFW Trade Show with 80 designers representing menswear and womenswear, millinery, accessories, shoes, bags and jewellery.
Apart from established designers, other designers like the participants in the New Talent, Cape Wools & Mohair SA Designer Challenge as well as the SA Fashion Week Student competitions, will showcase their sustainable collections at the event.

5. Lagos Fashion Week
One of the biggest fashion events in Africa, the 2020 edition of the Lagos Fashion Week comes up from October 29th to November 1st. This year, Heineken Lagos Fashion Week celebrates ‘A Decade in Fashion’ and all that is African fashion.
This season will be a hybrid of physical and digital presentations. All through the event, the public will be allowed to view the designer’s collections via live streaming and virtual tours. There will also be opportunities for guests to attend an onsite must-see installation and activation centre. Presentations from designers will utilise a range of technologies from Virtual Reality to 3D visualisation.

6. Swahili Fashion Week
The biggest fashion event in East and Central Africa, Swahili Fashion Week holds from December 4 to December 6. The fashion show will feature clothing and accessories designer from Swahili speaking countries and beyond who will have the opportunity to showcase their talent, market their creativity and network with clientele and the international fashion industry.

7. New York Fashion Week Pre-Fall and Fall/Winter
Yet another arm of the semi-annual series of events that make up New York Fashion Week (NYFW), NYFW Pre-Fall and Fall/Winter fashion show comes up from December 6 to December 10. It will feature both local and international fashion collections from various designers.
