The much-anticipated Coming 2 America premiere held on Friday, 5th of March at Filmhouse Cinemas, Lekki and it was amazing. The movie sequel to Coming To America was not disappointing in any way and neither were the various looks served by celebrities.
With the hashtag #Coming2AmericaPremiereNG and the theme – African Royal, lots of celebrities graced the event dishing serious African royalty looks to us. The outstanding display of regal pieces and gorgeous styles displayed was an applause to Nigerian fashion designers and stylists.

1. Beverly Naya
Serving serious queenly vibes was actress Beverly Naya. In a black jumpsuit that featured a brown cape accessorised with black feathers and a matching headgear, she looked absolutely gorgeous.
The bodycon long-sleeved jumpsuit with a sweetheart neckline was a perfect fit for her body. Since the outfit was a statement on its own, the actress accessories the look with minimal accessories featuring large black sequin embellished earrings, a gold ring and black heels. Her makeup was also minimal.
2. Akin Faminu
Looking every bit like an African royal was men’s fashion and lifestyle content creator, Akin Faminu. Everything he had on, from his cap to his shoes spoke volumes of royalty.
The fashion influencer wore a black two-piece trouser and suit ensemble. The suit sported four silver stars on each shoulder with a knotted rope hanging from his right shoulder and a leopard print sash with fringes hanging from the left shoulder. To make this piece look even more royal was an embroidered image of a lion wearing a crown on the back on the back of it.
By way of accessorising this look, he wore a black cap with small gold accessories on either side of it. On his left hand, he wore 3 rings and a wristwatch and went with a pair of black shoes for his feet.
Wofai’s outfit was an unexpected mix of colours, fabrics and patterns that came together to give her a unique look. Sporting a long Ankara kimono with balloon sleeves and a short Ankara overskirt, the media personality looked absolutely stunning.
Made from a mix of cheetah and geometrical patterns, the floor-length kimono was a mix of white, browns, black and orange. The mini Ankara overskirt featured brighter colours like pink and lemon green and had pleated detailing on its band.
To top off the look, she wore a bright green gele with gold leaf earrings, nude pumps, a multi-coloured beaded necklace, and flawless makeup.
4. Prince Nelson Enwerem
One person that room the African Royal theme to a whole new level was Prince Nelson Enwerem. Not afraid to look like the classic African king, Enwerem brought all the kingly vibes to the premiere.
To add the royal feel to this otherwise simple outfit, he accessorised the look with a gold crown, long gold necklaces and gold bracelets and beads. To completely bring out his kingly status, he held a gold staff in one hand.
5. Chioma Ikokwu
Looking nothing short of regal and stunning in a green dress and cape was Chioma Ikokwu. The beautiful entrepreneur truly brought out royal vibes with her head to toe ensemble.
Starting from her head, Ikokwu sported a huge gold headpiece embellished with emerald green stones. Her hair, which was braided in a ponytail lay down her back accessories with gold hoop accessories.
Her stunning turtleneck mini dress featured fringes cascading down to her feet and fringe tassels on its sleeves. The outfit was then topped off with a floor-length oversized green cape with gold detailing and high shoulders. She then finished off the look with gold earrings, bracelets and heels.
Ex-BBNaija housemate, Elozanam surely looked like a prince in his simple attire.
To channel the African Royal vibes, he sported a red kimono apron dress with round black patterns on it. At its waist was a black belt with a single silver button to hold it together. Underneath this apron dress was a long-sleeved black shirt and a pair of black trousers.
The look was accessorised with a pair of glasses, two black rings and a pair of black shoes.
7. Idia Aisien
Nothing speaks African royalty more than leopard print paired with a floor-length cape and huge headgear, and Idia Aisien had it all. Sporting a floor-length corset dress with matching headgear, Aisien was ready to slay with her outfit.
The model and presenter ticked the right boxes with a floor-length leopard print corset dress and black lycra cape with gold beaded applique at the neck. To top off the look, she wore a high leopard print headgear and gold earrings, bracelets, and rings.
8. Toyin Abraham
Bringing royalty back to our motherland was actress Toyin Abraham. With a look that was complete with the beads Africans are famous for, Abraham owned the theme, African Royal.
She sported a shimmering burnt orange aso-oke dress with silver details. The dress featured a flounce with silver applique on it at its waist, fringes at its hem, and a slit at the back. This outfit was topped off necklaces, bracelets, earrings and a traditional crown made from coral beads.
9. Chizoba Onochie & Adebayo Olubobkun
Looking like true Nigerian northern royalty was the duo Chizoba Onochie and Adebayo Olubokun. In just 3 colours – pink, white and gold – the couple stunned.
Chizoba Onochie sported a long white lace dress with a pink cape that featured gold embroidery at its top and hems. She topped off this look with a gold turban, bag, and things and beaded necklaces and earrings.
In a similar fashion, Adebayo Olubobkun sported a white trouser and shirt ensemble under a pink cape with gold detailing at the neckline and hems. He then topped this look off with a white turban, beaded necklace, and black shoes.
10. Kim Oprah
Another look that spoke volumes of royalty was that of Kim Oprah. The ex-BBNaija housemate looked absolutely takeaway in her premiere outfit.
Her floor-length mermaid style dress featured a gold bead-embellished bodice with a long Ankara skirt mixed with net. To make the dress even more stylish than it already was, a long black floor-length sleeve cape was attached to both sleeves, giving it a complete royal look.
