One of Nigeria’s renowned designers, Deola Sagoe, lit the streets of Twitter late yesterday when her brand shared pictures from a collection in an editorial photoshoot. Deola Sagoe is known for her aso-oke pieces which communicate culture and tradition in a modern way.
The Haute Couture brand has been in existence for over 5 decades and has remained prominent since its launch in the 1980s.
The dresses that got many stirred up in the Ethereal Collection these past few hours can be described as artistic and surreal, dreamy creations of fine aso-oke with whimsical details.
As expected, each piece has caused a stir amongst Nigerians. Here are the best reactions to the collection.

Some of the accolades came from designers who appreciate the fine details, artistry and exquisite finishing of the clothes from the collection.
I have never seen an ill- fitted Deola Sagoe outfit. Every seam, every stitch so smooth, like ice- cream. The kind of designer I aspire to be. God when? 🙏🙏🙏 — upper echelon (@Nazcouture) January 20, 2021
