One thing we love about the fashion industry is how various fashion brands in different sectors get to showcase their creativity and passion through fashion collections. A fashion collection, including a capsule one, is a collection of various products all with the same mood and theme to depict a particular story.

One of the fashion brands in Ghana that is well known for its luxurious products, Christie Brown recently released their Fall/Winter 2020 collection and it is quite a sight. Check out our review of this collection.

Christie Brown is a Ghanaian women’s apparel and accessories brand with pieces ranging from beautiful bespoke dresses to ready-to-wear pieces primarily inspired by African culture and art. The Fall/Winter 2020 collection embodies the signature outlook of the brand which is essentially the unique use of wax prints. It also promotes the innovative use of traditional embroidery techniques.

So, how was the collection executed?

Execution

In light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic in the world, the Fall/Winter 2020 Collection was delivered through a virtual runway featuring inclusive models that rocked the pieces from the collection.

Streamed live on various channels, including Instagram and YouTube, many people from all over the world got to be a part of the virtual premiere.

And what exactly makes this collection unique?

Delivery

The Fall/Winter 2020 Collection is a mix of the Neo-African culture and trendy designs to give an indeed sophisticated and core African aesthetic. Most of the fabrics used are locally sourced African fabrics that truly portray the heritage and culture of the continent, such as Adire, African wax prints, Lace, Batik and many more.

The fabrics were then used to design a range of outfits, including dresses, tops, trousers and more, that feature trendy styles. The Bishop sleeves, ruched style, corsets, asymmetric skirts, one-off shoulder, amongst others were some of the styles that featured in this collection.

The Christie Brown brand aims to provide their modern women with a unique experience designed to complement the amazing personalities of the African woman, and this collection embodies this.

All the pieces in this collection are available on their official website, and they are priced within the range of about 150 USD to over 500 USD.

One thing we love about this collection is how the various styles were used to design outfits that can be worn to a range of occasions including classy, formal or even casual events.
