Facebook announced on Monday the introduction of new audio tools in the Facebook app. Dubbed “a sound studio in your pocket” by the organisation, these new features will be there for users’ listening pleasure.

They will be used to create and share audio on the app and they include Facebook Live Audio Rooms, Podcasts and Soundbites. The sound studio feature will allow users to mix and edit audio with a variety of filters and effects.

Some upsides to these new features are the facts that,

  • Creators can filter out background noise from their audio and create amazing sound effects with them,
  • Creators will be allowed to use music with their audio recordings to make them more appealing,
  • There’s a speech-to-text option to make listening easier, and
  • There will be no pressure to dress up for a live audio meeting or a soundbite because there’s no video.

Features of Live Audio Rooms and Soundbites

Live Audio Rooms

The Live Audio Rooms feature will allow communities to discuss topics they care about. The idea behind this is to allow users to host audio discussions and also record and distribute such conversations.

The feature will allow discussions between public figures or friends. It will first be tested in groups and with public features before it is rolled out to the general public in the summer. It will also be incorporated in Messenger.

Facebook will allow users to charge for access to their rooms through either a subscription or one-time fee.

Soundbites

Similar to TikTok but with audio alone is Facebook’s Soundbite feature. It allows users to easily create and share short-form clips. According to Facebook, Soundbites are “creative audio clips for capturing anecdotes, jokes, moments of inspiration, poems, and many other things we haven’t yet imagined”.

Soundbites will work hand-in-hand with Live Audio Rooms to create excerpts from a live conversation to encourage further discussions. It can, however, also be used alone.

Soundbites will first be available only to a small number of creators before it is released to the general public.

How to Use Live Audio Rooms and Soundbites to make More Sales and Build Brand Presence for Your Fashion Brand

1. Collaborate with Other Entrepreneurs

Collaborations help fashion brands move forward. As a fashion entrepreneur, you can take advantage of the Live Audio Rooms to have interesting conversations surrounding fashion with other entrepreneurs.

Your conversations can cover a wide range of topics that your audience will gain from the most. With these conversations, you can share your brand story and let your target audience know what you are doing to solve their problems. This will help you build a brand presence for your fashion brand and let those you target know that your brand exists.

In these conversations, you can also do promotions to get both your audience and the audience of those you are collaborating with to patronise your brand. Just make sure you collaborate with those that target a similar audience as you.

2. Collaborate with Influencers

Since the Love Audio Rooms feature allows you to have conversations with anyone, you can collaborate with influencers to boost your sales. Influencer marketing works wonders if you do it right. With this new audio feature, you can get influencers to come on and hold discussions with them.

This way, you catch the attention of your target market and get them to patronise your brand. It also helps you build a brand presence on Facebook so people know what your brand does.

3. Share Tips and Hacks with Your Audience

Fashionistas always want a bit of new information about their fashion and style. As a fashion entrepreneur, you can use the Live Audio Rooms or Soundbites feature to share fashion tips and hacks with your audience.

When you drop tips and hacks for your audience often, they begin to see you as a brand that cares for them. These tips can serve as a way to establish your presence in their minds. It makes them remember your brand when they need something because you have been of help to them.

These can range from simple everyday hacks to complex hacks, but make sure they are easy to follow. It also positions you as an authority in your field. You must also ensure that your tips and hacks help those you target.

Facebook Soundbites can be used to break news to your audience. When you have new products, collections, services, posts or announcements, you can use this feature to break the news to your audience.

Also, major events like new deals, collaborations and endorsements can be shared with your followers and customers on Soundbites. When you constantly break exciting news with your followers on Facebook, it keeps you at the top of their minds. This way, you are making your presence known to them which can draw in sales.

5. Share Your Personality and Inspiration

People love to interact with people. People buy from people, not businesses. Since customers love to interact with people, Facebook’s audio features allow you to show your clients the person behind the brand.

With the Soundbites feature, you get to share short audio snippets of motivational quotes that make you think and want to do more. You can also share personal stories with them that inspire the designs you create. Interesting facts you think will interest your followers are not off-limit, so you can try sharing those too.

In all of these, make sure to never lose the essence of your branding. Let your brand voice show and let your target market know you are there to help them and solve their problems.
